One of the most popular, beloved singer-songwriters of her generation, Janis Ian has been making albums since she was 16 years old. Her first single, "Society's Child," was a huge hit in 1967. The Grammy winning "At Seventeen," released in 1975, became one of the most popular songs of the 70s. She's had many, many more successes since then, including hit movie tracks and a popular (and critically well received) autobiography, Society's Child: My Autobiography. In addition to her music Ian is a well known author, having penned articles for The Advocate and Performing Songwriter, in addition to poetry and short stories. She also runs The Pearl Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to providing college scholarships for deserving students. Ian's new site is the final destination for all things Janis. Visitors will find photos, videos, news, tour dates and forums as well as a huge "Listening Room" where they can listen to every song from her 30+ albums and read lyrics for every song. [more]
