Songwriting legend Guy Clark doesn't merely compose songs; he projects images and characters with the kind of hands-on care and respect of a literary master. Clark works slowly and with strict attention to detail, and has produced an impressive collection of timeless gems, leaving very little waste behind. The emotional level of his work, as well as the admiration and esteem of his peers, consistently transcends sales figures and musical genres. Using everyday language to construct extraordinary songs for more than 35 years, Clark continues to be the type of songwriter whom young artists study and seasoned writers, as well discriminating listeners, revere.
Clark's latest album, Somedays The Song Writes You, was released on September 22nd. It provided the perfect opportunity to overhaul Clark's outdated website and substantially improve his web presence. The design of the site is coordinated with the packaging of his new CD and social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Mailing List) were given prominent placement. Every song from each of Clark's albums is available for listening. Tour dates and news "widgets" are also featured on almost every page (all tour dates and news items are easily updatable by Clark or anyone on his team). Photo and Video galleries are also easily updatable so that new content can be added at any time. There's also a Press Kit which features downloadable images and documents for press, radio, retail and touring usage. All in all, it's a website that provides visitors with all the information they've come looking for.
