We built this site in conjunction with Marc Harkness, a wonderful designer from east Tennessee. Mark did all the design and we coded, authored and built the site. Formed in 2007, Lightning Rod Records is a Nashville-based independent record label. Lightning Rod Records's first artist signing was critically lauded singer-songwriter James McMurtry. Since then they have also worked with Jason Isbell and Joe Pug. Label founder Logan Rogers previously worked as Vice President of A&R for Compadre Records on the release of McMurtry's last two albums. The label is distributed in the United States by Thirty Tigers/RED.

When the label was formed one of their first and foremost needs was a website that provided visitors with a place to explore the artists, listen to their music, watch videos and order CDs. A custom "admin" section allows the label to update the news page on their own. Links are provided for email newsletter, street teams and Facebook.
